Description
The eCommerce Project Manager plans, establishes, and maintains electronic data integrations (EDI, XML, and other structured data exchange) for inbound and outbound electronic partnerships with vendors and third-party partners in alignment with company strategy, data governance, security, and quality standards. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Acts as project manager for data quality, remediation, and outgoing optimization, including:
- Uses production and test data from electronic files for select groups of facility accounts to run automated and manual validations.
- Monitors maps, schemas, and transformation logic to determine where vendors leverage non-standard segments to transmit data.
- Reviews test output and compares to paper invoice processing system requirements to ensure all required data elements are reported accurately.
- Obtains authorization of quality correction processing once all technical, operational, and compliance requirements are met.
- Evaluates the electronic commerce application for automation, scalability, and process improvements and initiates any required enhancements.
- Monitors production to ensure accurate processing and timely delivery and receipt of all files including quality adjustments.
- Identifies changes in electronic data presentation within vendor files that would impact data quality and proactively works with the vendor or Cass third-party partners to correct data or adjust Cass maps.
- Analyzes vendor data and quality reporting. Manages project improvements as needed from definition through testing and implementation.
- Works with Facility Operations to ensure electronic commerce application and data is compatible with workflows, client portals, and data entry processes, utilizing Zendesk or comparable ticketing/workflow systems.
- Maintains vendor onboarding and reporting processes to ensure new accounts are added to electronic trading programs, driving paper reduction and cost efficiency goals.
- Participates in problem solving sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
- Assists with communication and coordination with EDI partners as needed on integration standards, onboarding timelines, testing protocols, and billing best practices.
- Serves as a secondary business contact for all EDI partners.
- Becomes conversant with newly emerging payment platforms, digital invoicing standards, automation tools, and regulatory requirements that may offer efficiencies or be required by vendors.
- Oversees other projects as assigned by management.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of electronic data interchange and integration protocols, including EDI 810 and XML transaction sets.
- Ability to quickly grasp Cass operating systems, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of the utility industry or accounts payable and/or large-scale B2B billing ecosystems is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to maintain a high level of productivity within the EDI services work group and cooperation with clients, vendors, and personnel of all levels in the Cass organization.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize competing demands, and communicate status, risks, and outcomes effectively.
- Working knowledge of Agile, hybrid, or waterfall project delivery methodologies.
MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or similar field, or equivalent experience required.
- 3+ years of progressively complex systems experience in a technical or integration focused environment.
- 3+ years of experience in data processing, billing, electronic commerce, or integration operations.
- 2+ years of experience in managing either in-house or outsourced technical projects.
