| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
Knowledge, Skills and Experience to improve the lives of others. Public Policy is an interdisciplinary social science major designed to provide students with the theoretical perspective, analytical skill, and substantive knowledge needed to respond to major domestic and global policy problems. A double major in Public Policy and a related social science or professional school is common. |
| Position Summary |
The position will be fully funded on department sources and the candidate will partner closely with the principal investigator to manage and conduct research activities in accordance with the project objectives and timelines. The incumbent will be actively involved with all aspects of preparing and analyzing data. These responsibilities include processing and cleaning datasets, building analysis datasets, and performing descriptive and inferential analyses. The incumbent will also be responsible for participating in project development (e.g., specifying analyses), helping manage various aspects of quantitative projects (e.g.,
IRB submissions, grant reports, providing support to other research team members), and assisting with the creation of project deliverables, including presentations, briefs, and journal articles. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Management Preferences |
-Course work in public policy, economics, or a related social science discipline.
-A background in the field of education research.
-Experience with the NC education system. |
