What to Expect
Tesla is currently seeking a highly motivated IT Asset Management Administrator to join our team onsite at GFTX. The IT Asset Management Administrator position within the IT Asset Management team will be the behind-the-scenes support contributing to the success of the IT Operations teams as a whole and whose mission is to optimize the utilization of Tesla's IT Assets.
This role will work closely with fellow team members and various other IT staff to ensure proper management of the asset lifecycle at Tesla. The Administrator must have a strong understanding of asset management disciplines and have experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment.
What You'll Do
- Promptly support inventory or hardware issues from customers to achieve a reduction in downtime and improve end-user satisfaction
- Troubleshoot and replace peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, docking stations, and other hardware
- Collaborate with the IT support team to ensure timely resolution of escalated hardware issues
- Act as a flexible resource to assist other IT teams when short-staffed or during high-demand periods (e.g., major hardware refresh projects or urgent deployments)
- Procurement: Work closely with procurement teams to track requisitions, verify orders, and receive equipment
- Deployment: Prepare, label, and configure/provision IT assets for requests
- Maintenance: Conduct periodic audits to identify outdated or underutilized assets
- End-of-Life: Manage the return of expired assets and coordinate asset disposal processes
- Perform inventory reconciliation to maintain accurate records within the Asset Management database
- Monitor asset usage and ensure timely updates in the asset management tool. Address asset-related tickets, including requests for replacements, upgrades, or transfers. Track asset ownership and location to ensure accountability
What You'll Bring
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and remain focused in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline
- Experience with IT ticketing and asset management applications like ServiceNow, BMC remedy ITASM, or similar platforms preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- General knowledge of various types of IT hardware
- 3+ years of Asset Management experience is required
- Strong ability to analyze data with in-depth knowledge of the IT asset lifecycle
- 3+ years of experience in an IT Operations role
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting asset standards and workflows to support specialized or non-standard builds across different teams or departments
