The Corrections Community Center Monitor position with the Department of Correction offers a chance to help guide reentrants as they return to the community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role provides care, custody, and control of reentrants assigned to a state-operated Community Corrections Center (CCC) while guiding reentrants through their transition. It combines monitoring responsibilities with supportive interactions that encourage positive progress. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety Oversight: Maintain security of the center, and documents reentrant counts, fire drills, and scheduled/unscheduled searches of reentrants, their property, and living/common areas for contraband
- Reentrant Support: Conducts new reentrant orientation to the CCC which includes reviewing Department of Corrections (DOC)/CCC policies, rules, and regulations, makes room assignments and assigns housekeeping duties
- Substance Testing: Administer breathalyzer and urinalysis tests upon return to the CCC and document all related results
- Record Management: Maintain activity logs, track sign-in and sign-out records, and inventory medications and equipment
- Public Interaction: Assist visitors, address concerns, and serve as a contact for law enforcement agencies

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- You must successfully complete classroom training at the DOC Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
- You must be willing and able to work in York, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military)
