NAVEX is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our high performing Accounting team. You will play a key role in our financial reporting process to ensure accurate and timely presentation of balance sheet and income statement activity. This position provides the opportunity to make an immediate impact at a growing company and is responsible for supporting our Accounting team in key activities such as month-end close, year-end reporting and audits, as well as process improvements. What you'll do:



  • Ensure all journal entries are posted timely and supporting schedules are adequately documented
  • Analyze and record cash and debt activity, manage fixed assets, and journal various recurring and non-recurring transactions
  • Manage the completion and analysis of assigned balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with financial close deadlines
  • Perform detailed variance analysis on GL account activity, investigating month-over-month variances and present findings to executive management
  • Perform end-to-end cash management responsibilities
  • Support the external audit process by preparing documentation and answering questions, including for international statutory audits
  • Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency to improve operations and productivity, escalating issues and presenting recommendations to management
  • Perform ad hoc technical accounting research to ensure accurate accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Facilities
  • Identify and implement use-cases where Artificial Intelligence can enhance and make more efficient our existing processes and procedures


What you'll bring:



  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting or industry (SaaS or software company preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or progress toward a CPA license is a plus (we support team members pursuing CPA certification)
  • Proficiency with business software (Microsoft Word and Excel required, NetSuite a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • An intellectual curiosity that seeks opportunities to learn and improve
  • Exceptional problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities with the ability to adapt to change
