Guides the day-to-day accounting operations ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls. Supports financial stability and operational efficiency through accounting activities such as reporting, research, data review, month end processes, inventory reconciliation, accruals, journal entries, fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure requests, and metrics tracking for various functions or locations. Collaborates cross-functionally to streamline processes, resolve issues, and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities



  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks. Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces systems, policies, and procedures
  • Oversees location or function accounting activities, such as cost analysis, expense/budget management, billing, trend reporting, third-party management and contract updates, variance reporting, and reconciliation. Ensures all tasks are accurate, timely, and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, internal policies, and contractual obligations.
  • Oversees accumulation, evaluation, and reporting of data and key metrics. Monitors for trends and escalates potential risks as needed.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans providing insights and recommendations to upper management. Maintains planning and control procedures, including Active Based Costing cost accounting system.
  • Guides the preparation of relevant financial statements and/or reports in accordance with accounting standards. Reviews and ensures no discrepancies or potential issues.
  • Assists in preparation of audits and provides any tax reporting requirements or documentation needed for regulatory filings.
  • Monitors the completion of all records submitted through the time record system and may support payroll processing. Promptly resolves all issues.
  • Ensures that proper documentation is maintained for all transactions and payments.


Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)



  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • 1+ year of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, financial concepts, and relevant laws and regulations governing financial processes
  • Working knowledge of accounting processes and best practices
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and motivate a team
  • Solid communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to identify and address uses within accounting processes
  • Skilled at data review with the ability to identify trends
  • Effective organization, time-management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interpret and educate on standard practices and policies
  • Skilled at resource management, delegation, and prioritizing deliverables
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) and decent knowledge of payroll software (i.e., ADP, Paychex, Workday, SAP, Kronos, etc.)


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Associate or bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Experience with SAP and/or Mtech
  • Accounting experience in manufacturing industry
  • Ample experience in cost accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant designation or other relevant certifications


Physical Demands



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment, computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally climb and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.


Working Conditions & Travel Requirements



  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.
  • Minimal travel may be required
