Position Summary

The Specialist is expected to have a thorough understanding of the student academic record life cycle and a specialized understanding of degree requirements, program and curriculum governance, and the system maintenance associated with these academic functions for all schools of NYU. Specialists serve as an information resource to the broader University for Office of the Registrar policy and procedure for curriculum management, bulletin publishing, degree requirements, and related governance structures. In partnership with leadership, maintain records in University systems, including: academic systems impacting academic policies, degree requirements, program information, and institutional archives. Operate within NYU's curriculum management ecosystem across systems that provide Bulletin management and publication, curriculum inventory and governance, degree audit and planning, along with our student information system, Albert SIS. Serve as an information resource specialist for the entire University for all aspects of curriculum management, governance, and publication. Train other staff and school users in University policy and procedure, as well as utilization of University systems.


Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience in data maintenance/management and office operations in a college or university office (with Enrollment Management functions), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with CourseLeaf and/or PeopleSoft

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated data management and reporting skills. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems. Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and student information systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to consistently meet deadlines. Ability to interact with a diverse population and all levels of personnel. Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult issues and/or diverse organizations. Ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, professional colleagues, and the public. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to promote a cooperative work environment.


Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $84,700.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
