Financial Accountant

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Financial Accountant for a contract position with a Major Financial Services Company located in Milwaukee, WI. This is a hybrid position, in office Mon., Tues., and Thurs. and remote on Wed. and Fri. This is a 9-month contract position.

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour.

This role involves performing daily and monthly balancing of ledger accounts, handling high volumes of financial activity, and ensuring the accuracy of bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate will research and resolve system and accounting issues, prepare financial information for regulatory compliance, and participate in cross-departmental projects within a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily and monthly balancing of ledger accounts and systems with high volumes of financial activity
• Perform financial accounting functions and ensure accuracy and timeliness of bank reconciliations
• Provide technical guidance, resolve complex reconciliation issues, and maintain business rules of the Bank Reconciliation system
• Research and resolve system and accounting issues
• Analyze bank detail and general ledger data to identify potential enhancements to strengthen controls and improve efficiency
• Provide support as needed to balance workload in a team environment
• Prepare financial and analytical information to support regulatory compliance and operational functions
• Participate in cross-department product and system implementation projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Knowledge of how to do journal entries (credits/debits) and understanding of accounting principles
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks while working in a dynamic environment
• Technology savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Professional communication skills and proper grammar for frequent communication with field offices
• Formal accounting education
