Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the control, calibration and repair of all measurement
tools and instruments within the company. In addition, this position also is
responsible for the scheduling, data input, traceability and history into a
specialized software recall system of the records for all measuring tools.
Works directly with purchasing to schedule approved outside sources for
calibration and repair where applicable. Further, this position is responsible
for the internal calibration of special process equipment (i.e. heat treat
furnaces and controls and processing equipment and control) and organizes and
schedules outside sources of special process (specification required)
calibrations.

Qualifications

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Maintain a current schedule for calibration recall. Print out report each month for use of calibration.
Perform minor repair and calibration of product acceptance measuring and test equipment. Repairs include caliper sharpening, changing batteries and cleaning.
Coordinate sending various instruments to outside services for repair or calibration, as required.
Maintain calibration records in accordance with customer and industry requirements.
Maintain a calibration lab in accordance with customer, agency and industry requirements.
Identify and control measuring and test equipment in accordance with agency and industry requirements.
Ensure applicable lab and measurement equipment calibrated by outside sources are ISO 17025 accreditation or equivalent.
Ensure calibration standards are segregated and controlled.
Ensure that tools and gages that are broken or damaged beyond repair (unserviceable) are removed and disposed of in a timely manner and their status is entered in the GageTrak software system.
Perform internal calibrations of all heat treat furnaces (SAT-System Accuracy Tests) in accordance with required specifications
Schedule and assist where needed with outside heat treat calibration services (TUS-Temperature Uniformity Services)
Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Language
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret
documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract,
multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to perform complex duties where a
high level of independent judgment and action are required. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
5+ Years experience with gauge and calibration. Knowledge and/or training heat
treat pyrometry. Must be able to work as
scheduled including weekends and overtime as required.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee
is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk
or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and
arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is
occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up
to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth
perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
