POSITION OVERVIEW:

Support the Legal Operations function by developing, administering, and adjusting as needed the policy governance lifecycle and providing business owner administration for key legal technology platforms. This role is focused on execution, coordination, and continuous improvement. Work collaboratively with Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure policies are current, accessible, and governed appropriately. Ensure that legal systems are wellconfigured, stable, and effectively used by the business.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the enterprise policy governance process, including policy intake, review cycles, approvals, publication, versioning, and archiving, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage policy lifecycle processes including prioritization of intake, determining review cadence, facilitating approval workflow, and managing disposition protocols.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on the policy governance application, defining workflows and system controls to support compliance and business objectives.
  • Primary authority for policy governance, defining, maintaining and continuously improving policy establishing best practices governance standards, templates and controls ensuring defensibility.
  • Assess, prioritize and manage legal, audit, and regulatory inquiries, determining appropriate responses, validating policy evidence, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Primary functional owner of legal applications, resolving complex user issues, determining root causes and assessing IT or vendor escalation needs.
  • Administer legal applications, including user access, permissions, workflows, metadata, and basic configuration changes.
  • Lead system enhancement and upgrade initiatives including requirements definition, user acceptance, change management and user adoption strategies.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, job aids, user guides, and training materials as well as conducting training as necessary to ensure consistent and compliant user adoption.
  • Proactively ensure compliance with data governance, security, and records retention obligation.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience plus three (3) years' experience in Legal Operations, Compliance Operations, Risk, Legal Technology or related operational role
  • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise systems or workflow platforms such as legal, compliance, GRC or similar
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple initiatives, competing deadlines and cross-functional dependencies
  • Experience managing or supporting crossfunctional projects related to legal systems, governance, or compliance initiatives.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, IT and other business users to drive desired outcomes
  • Prior exposure to legal systems such as Relativity, Onit, NetDocuments, Riskonnect or similar platforms, preferred
  • Experience supporting policy management, compliance or governance processes, preferred
  • Familiarity with legal department operations (matter management, document management, eDiscovery Concepts) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
