Application Architect

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Support Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in New York, NY. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This is a critical Global Markets role supporting the front office FICC Credit business. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and flexible individual working in a high-intensity trading environment, focusing on Incident and Problem Management in close collaboration with Application Developers, peer Support Leads, Application Managers, and Infrastructure Support teams.

Responsibilities:

• Provide application support and problem diagnosis, including investigating issues, resolving problems, and communicating status
• Manage user query mailbox effectively, ensuring timely and appropriate responses
• Develop support tooling and automation using Python, Javascript, Kafka, and Mongo DB
• Respond to and resolve feed support issues for Autosys and Python-based batches
• Manage alerts and monitoring of critical trading system environments using ITRS Geneos, Splunk, and Dynatrace
• Handle incident management, providing timely user notifications and management escalations
• Perform documentation and knowledge management
• Follow up and coordinate resolutions with various development teams
• Assist with metrics reporting for Python-based systems and Java applications
• Coordinate and perform Business Continuity testing and related paperwork
• Organize and run meetings independently for issue resolution
• Identify scope for automation to reduce manual, repeating tasks

Requirements:

• Proven experience with Python
• Strong knowledge of SQL
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux and shell scripting
• Experience with Quartz

Desired skills:

• Knowledge of Fixed Income Derivatives, Bonds, or MTGE Loans
• Experience with monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, Splunk, or Dynatrace
• Familiarity with Ansible, FIX Connectivity, or Mongo DB

Pay range: $67.29 - $75.29 per hour
