Genesis10 is currently seeking a Human Resources Representative for a contract position with a Leading Food Production Company located in Elizabeth, NJ. This is a temporary contract opportunity. Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour The Human Resources Representative is passionate about employee relations with an interest in employee engagement, onboarding, and compliance. This role is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department with various administrative and clerical related duties. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Human Resources Department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to employee requests and questions
- Complete check sorting, distribution and attach applicable payroll stuffers
- Conduct audits for various payroll, benefits or other HR programs
- Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation and assist with the on-boarding process
- Prepare new employee files
- Assist Plant and Process Managers in managing time off requests for hourly employees
- Complete special projects and departmental initiatives
- Enter new hires, update and maintain Human Resources Information System records and compile reports
- Act as a backup for the Payroll Administrator as needed
- Cross-train in HR functions: payroll, benefits, and recruitment
- Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs and HACCP guidelines, and maintain sanitary conditions
Requirements:
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and in certain areas, earmuffs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
Desired skills:
- PHR/SPHR Certification
- Experience in HRIS/Payroll systems; knowledge of Kronos Dimension payroll system preferred
- Knowledge of ADP/Ceridian payroll systems
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of Human Resources theory, principles, and practices
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations regarding employment practices
- Problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Organized, accurate and detail oriented
- Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality
