About This Role

Housing and Dining Services seeks a qualified Lead Data Analyst to oversee data analysis initiatives supporting housing operations, occupancy management, and Next-Gen recruitment strategies. This role coordinates cross-departmental meetings, activities, and analytical efforts to evaluate occupancy trends, inform housing marketing plans and campaigns, and support strategic decision-making. The position also monitors macro and micro-economic conditions to assess demand levels, guide business operations, and support projected housing rate increases through data-driven insights and planning. Duties include:
* Serves as lead data analysis and market research efforts for Housing and Dining Services (HDS), including student satisfaction, occupancy trends, retention, competitor bench marking, and rate-setting analysis. Prepares reports and presentations to support strategic planning, revenue optimization, and Board of Regents discussions. Conducts surveys, focus groups, and economic analysis to support housing operations and occupancy management.
* Develops and coordinates marketing and communication strategies to increase housing contracts and student engagement. Partners with departmental marketing staff to manage campaigns, online outreach, website accuracy, FAQs, communication timelines, and targeted messaging for prospective and returning students and families.
* Supports operational effectiveness through data management, reporting, system testing, process improvement, training documentation, and coordination with Student Living, IT, and contracts staff. Assists with key housing operations including move-in/move-out support, contract updates, troubleshooting, and policy compliance while fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Business, Statistics or Economics degree
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge or experience living or working in a college or university residence hall environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office environment
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets and merging data from one database to another
  • Have great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Familiar with economics and statistical projections
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including professional presentations to senior management.
