Assistant Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a clinical, term appointment as assistant professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Applicants must hold a D.V.M. or equivalent degree and have completed a Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency. Candidates eligible for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine will be provided study time for examination preparation when appropriate. The successful candidate should be committed to academia and dedicated to contributing to a high-quality teaching program.

The successful candidate will be joining a service of three other internists and will be expected to participate in clinical service, veterinary and graduate student instruction, and collaborative research in support of the academic missions of the College, Department and Veterinary Health Center. Directed clinical service activities include management of referral internal medicine cases, emergencies, and consults within the VHC, as well as mentoring of house officers and students in patient evaluation and management. Teaching responsibilities include instruction of veterinary students, interns, and residents in both clinical rounds and lecture environments.
The starting date for the position is negotiable. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

• Completed a Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency
