About This Role

The Division of Biology at Kansas State University is seeking candidates for an immediate Postdoctoral Research Scientist position in the laboratory of Dr. Revathi Govind.

The selected Postdoctoral Research Scientist will be responsible for manuscript and report writing, staying current with scientific literature, and participating in laboratory presentations and meetings. Research duties include performing immunology research using primary cell cultures and animal models, as well as conducting molecular biology techniques such as metabolic assays, flow cytometry, western blotting, and related experimental procedures. The position will also involve animal handling for both in vitro and in vivo mouse cell experiments.

Additional responsibilities include mentoring students, overseeing routine laboratory operations such as purchasing reagents and maintaining laboratory infrastructure, and working closely with the Principal Investigator to support efficient laboratory operations.

All of these individuals are essential to accomplish the Division of Biology's mission, to generate and disseminate high-quality biological scientific knowledge through teaching, research, service, and outreach. The research, teaching, and service interests of these individuals, spanning all areas of biological research, teaching and training at the postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate levels, as well as service and outreach contributions to the broader scientific community and the public.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

* PhD in Microbiology or any related sub-discipline. The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

* Candidates are expected to demonstrate a previous record of productivity, excellent technical and communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
