Who we are looking for: Atkore is looking for a highly talented for Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a hardworking professional who likes meeting challenges and surpassing client expectations. What you'll do:
- Manage and oversee various projects and be the Project Leader on multiple projects
- Provide documentation and schedules for improvement projects
- Planning and evaluating integration of new or upgraded equipment
- Assist Manufacturing in various improvement projects, such as Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvements and Problem Solving
- Provide plant level ownership of capital expenditure process, including planning, budgeting, and writing
- Lead rebuild/re-design of machinery and processes to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Member and driver of daily Gemba walks
- Participate and/or Lead in Continuous Improvement activities
- Provide ownership of plant Tool Room department
- Develop, coach and mentor team of engineers to ensure the highest level of performance and standards of excellence
- Equipment acquisition, installation and relocation as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably mechanical engineering
- 7+ years of industry experience, with responsibilities in Capital project and Project Management
- Sound understating of technical issues/needs
- Working knowledge or tube mill operations and manufacturing techniques
- Ability to run Cross Functional Team Based Projects
- Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Total Preventive Maintenance methodologies
- AutoCAD or Solidworks experience
- Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Within 3 months, you'll:
- Complete your Atkore immersion program.
- Understand how your role supports Atkore's operational and strategic manufacturing objectives.
- Build strong working relationships with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, engineering, and support teams.
- Gain familiarity with plant processes, equipment capabilities, production constraints, and key performance metrics.
Within 6 months, you'll:
- Provide technical and functional leadership for manufacturing engineering initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, reliability, and cost performance.
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to identify, prioritize, and execute process and equipment improvements.
- Lead capital and continuous improvement projects from scope development through implementation and startup support.
- Support plant performance by troubleshooting production issues, improving equipment reliability, and optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Develop and standardize engineering practices, procedures, and project execution methods across the facility.
- Drive data-based decision making through analysis of production performance, downtime, quality, and process capability metrics.
Within 12 months, you'll:
- Lead the execution of manufacturing and capital improvement strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term plant growth.
- Build and develop a high-performing manufacturing engineering team focused on operational excellence and technical problem solving.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve process capability, equipment reliability, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Establish sustainable systems and standards to improve plant performance, project execution, and engineering effectiveness.
- Support development of future capital plans, equipment modernization efforts, and manufacturing technology improvements.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $120,000 - $166,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives. Benefits available include:
