Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager - Education

STV is seeking a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager for our PM/CM group to support our Construction Management team.

The PE's primary responsibility is to provide support and assistance to the other construction management team members in the performance of their respective responsibilities.

The PE is expected at times to step into the roles of more senior members of the CM team, including, without limitation, running design or construction meetings, conducting field checks, preparing written and photographic materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, guidelines, meeting minutes, and proposed action requests to the client.

The PE coordinates with the Design Team for conformance review and timely and accurate responses to requests for information, submittals, construction change documents, etc. The PE maintains Change Order Logs and other tracking documents.

The PE performs coordination and internal reviews of Change Orders (CO), Field Orders(FO) and other contractual documents for Districtwide Design/Construction projects.

The PE provides administrative and technical support throughout the lifecycle of educational projects, ensuring compliance with program management office construction department, District standards, and DSA regulations.

This role has the ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings, and works closely with Project Managers, superintendents, district representatives, and contractors to help deliver high-quality learning environments on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and compiling project documentation, reports, and studies required.
  • Support in supervising project personnel and participate in staff selection, development, and evaluation.
  • Help establish and maintain communication between contractors, school district representatives, architects, and other stakeholders to keep all parties informed of project progress.
  • Provide technical and administrative support from bid preparation and procurement through project closeout and acceptance by the district.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budget tracking, and document management construction and modernization projects.
  • Support preparation of bid packages, change orders, RFIs, and other project correspondence.
  • Monitor compliance with safety standards, district policies, and contract requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the CM team to ensure the timely delivery of projects, facilities, and infrastructure that support student learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3-7 years experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or construction management of commercial and/or public or educational facility construction projects.
  • Experience on Division of State Architect (DSA) projects preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of scheduling/project management software such as MS Project, Primavera, or Procore preferred.
  • Experience using BlueBeam, Adobe software for document reviews/mark-ups, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, to take initiative and make sound decisions, and effectively manage daily work effort.

Compensation Range:

$91,976.90 - $105,116.46
