SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Route Supervisor oversees daily residential collection operations to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective service for Waste Pro customers. This leadership role is responsible for supervising drivers, supporting daily operations, promoting safety, and delivering exceptional customer service while reinforcing Waste Pro's Core Values and Positive Leadership culture. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Supervise drivers and oversee daily route operations to ensure safe and efficient service delivery * Conduct daily driver check-ins and verify completion of pre-trip and post-trip inspections * Communicate important service updates, safety reminders, and equipment concerns with drivers * Promote a clean, safe, and compliant work environment * Reinforce Waste Pro safety standards, Decision Driving techniques, and daily safe work practices * Assist in conducting weekly safety meetings and ongoing driver coaching * Coordinate new service starts, container deliveries, service schedules, and can removals * Review route productivity reports and adjust routes to maximize efficiency and control labor costs * Monitor routes in the field to ensure high-quality customer service and operational standards * Respond to dispatch requests, customer concerns, and service-related issues promptly and professionally * Conduct route observations to ensure cleanliness, proper container placement, route safety, and driver compliance * Identify training opportunities and provide coaching and development to drivers * Monitor vehicle inspections and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams * Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, attendance expectations, and operational procedures * Complete accident investigations, injury reports, and property damage documentation as needed * Train, onboard, and mentor new employees * Conduct performance evaluations and support positive employee relations * Assist on routes and provide operational support during staffing shortages or peak service periods WHY JOIN WASTE PRO? * Quarterly bonus opportunity up to $3,500 * Competitive pay and benefits package * Career growth and advancement opportunities * Stable and growing company * Positive team-oriented culture * Leadership development and ongoing training WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position primarily works outdoors supervising drivers and daily operations in the field under varying weather and environmental conditions. QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent required, with 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, management, or the waste industry * Associate's degree or at least 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations involving coaching, routing, and employee supervision * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills * Ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams in a fast-paced outdoor environment while promoting accountability and teamwork * Strong organizational and customer service skills * Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA standards, safety procedures, and waste industry operations preferred * CDL Class A or B preferred, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire, with a driving record meeting company and insurance standards * Knowledge and application of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles preferred * Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications * Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and resolve operational issues effectively * Flexible availability, including weekends and on-call response to operational needs * Positive professional attitude when working with employees and customers * Knowledge of first aid procedures is a plus SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. * Ability to operate a vehicle and perform outdoor field-based work for most of the workday * Regular exposure to outdoor environmental conditions while supervising operations and supporting drivers * Occasional exposure to occupational hazards such as cuts, burns, chemicals, and other field-related risks * Ability to exert physical effort and handle objects up to 50 pounds * Exposure to varying environmental conditions including dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes
