Maintenance Repairman 2

As a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, you will help keep buildings, equipment, and grounds in strong working condition. This position helps maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds by completing a wide range of repair and upkeep tasks. It supports safe operations and ensures that important areas of the facility stay in good condition. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Electrical Work: Installs and replaces electrical circuits, wall plugs, lighting fixtures, and switches, and complete basic lighting repairs
• Plumbing Tasks: Repair leaks, clear drains, and install or replace plumbing fixtures
• Carpentry Repairs: Fix doors, windows and sills, install paneling and flooring, and replace window screens
• Surface Work: Mix cement, repair sidewalks, and prepare and paint surfaces
• Equipment Care: Perform preventive maintenance and make minor repairs to tools and systems
• Seasonal Support: Operate snow removal, landscaping, and cleaning equipment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

• You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
