DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Knox District Mining Office by assisting visitors, handling calls, and preparing records for digitization and processing. Your diligent efforts will help to maintain organized files and provide important customer service to the public. As a Clerical Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Reception Duties: Answer calls, greet visitors, and direct individuals to appropriate staff
- Record Handling: Prepare documents for digitization and upload records into electronic systems
- Correspondence Work: Type memos, letters, and reports and proofread materials for accuracy
- Mail Processing: Sort, log, and distribute incoming mail and manage package deliveries
- Customer Assistance: Provide water test kits, collect payments, and issue receipts as required
- Data Entry: Maintain logs, update manuals, and enter information into agency databases

- Limited-term, full-time employment for 6 months.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Knox. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
