Job Description
General Purpose of Job: The Scheduling Specialist is responsible for creating a positive impression for each patient, family member, visitor, and staff member while performing the tasks of boarding endoscopy cases, maintaining physician schedules and admitting patients into the system. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Schedule and accurately board endoscopy cases into EPIC
- Accuracy in assigning ICD 10 codes to diagnosis
- Entering physician block schedules and building the endoscopy schedule in EPIC. Daily review of schedule for accuracy and updates and adjusts accordingly
- Consistently communicates with physician offices to assist with meeting scheduling expectations/needs
- Maintains the patient's medical chart in a timely, organized and accurate manner by insuring all forms are properly labeled and that each chart contains a consent for treatment.
- Interview patients upon arrival to department for the purpose of accurate identification in the system and insurance verification.
- Obtain signatures for and educate the patient about their general medical consent.
- Answers incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously, screening calls to determine appropriate person or response needed.
- Inventories and replenishes supplies for unit: such as office supplies, linen and pantry items.

| Work Experience |
* Minimum of six (6) months experience in a healthcare office or similar setting. |

* High School Diploma or GED |
| Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Strong communication skills * Strong computer skills * Basic knowledge of medical terminology * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as will be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
