Our Core Values: Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic, highly analytical, and collaborative Director of Sales Operations, to lead and optimize the sales forecasting process across the business. This role is responsible for improving the quality, consistency, and usability of sales forecast submissions so they become a reliable, consumable input into the demand planning process and broader business planning rhythms. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in sales operations, forecasting, commercial planning, and cross-functional leadership within a complex manufacturing or CPG environment. This leader will drive forecast process discipline, monitor customer- and SKU-level demand changes, improve baseline and promotional forecast clarity, shape customer demand in partnership with the commercial team, and provide closed-loop feedback that strengthens forecast accuracy, reduces bias, and supports better decisions across Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and Finance. Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end sales forecasting process, establishing governance, standard work, timelines, and submission requirements that improve consistency, accountability, and forecast integrity across the commercial organization.
- Optimize the sales forecast process so that commercial inputs are translated into an accurate, timely, and consumable signal for the demand planning process.
- Track and analyze customer-specific changes that materially impact forecast accuracy and integrity, including assortment shifts, distribution changes, customer inventory movements, order pattern changes, and promotional activity.
- Monitor SKU velocity trends and demand pattern shifts across customers, channels, and product portfolios to identify emerging risks, opportunities, and forecast exceptions.
- Drive greater rigor in separating baseline forecast from promotional forecast, ensuring incremental lifts, timing assumptions, and post-promotion impacts are clearly understood and reflected in forecast submissions.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Category, Demand Planning, and Finance to shape customer demand, challenge assumptions, and improve the quality of commercial inputs used in business planning.
- Establish and monitor key forecast performance metrics, including forecast accuracy, bias, forecast value-add, forecast attainment, and exception trends, and translate performance results into actionable improvements.
- Create closed-loop feedback mechanisms for the sales organization that highlight forecast misses, root causes, customer-level learnings, and opportunities to improve future submissions.
- Lead root cause analysis on forecast error drivers, including customer behavior changes, mix shifts, new item performance, promotion execution, and input quality issues.
- Drive adoption, effective use, and continuous improvement of the Streamline forecasting tool across the sales organization, including training, process integration, governance, and user accountability.
- Develop reporting, dashboards, and business insights that provide visibility to forecast changes, performance by customer and SKU, promotional impact, and overall forecast health.
- Lead cross-functional discussions to align the commercial forecast with planning assumptions, ensuring the organization works from a more consistent and decision-ready demand signal.
- Build and lead a high-performing sales operations capability that strengthens commercial planning discipline, improves forecast reliability, and supports profitable growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in sales operations, forecasting, demand planning, commercial planning, revenue operations, or related functions within manufacturing, food and beverage, or CPG environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience building processes, leading teams, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Strong understanding of sales forecasting, promotional planning, customer demand drivers, forecast accuracy measurement, and commercial planning best practices.
- Advanced analytical capability with experience interpreting customer, SKU, and channel-level data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Experience with forecasting and analytics tools such as Streamline, ERP platforms, Excel, BI tools, and other planning systems used to support commercial forecasting and reporting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions, facilitate alignment, and translate data into clear business actions.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while balancing strategic leadership, process discipline, and executional excellence.
