Job Description

Reporting to the immediate manager, this role leads daily production operations, ensuring efficient use of labor and materials to meet schedule targets. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe work environment, enforcing sanitation and GMP standards, and driving operational excellence through strong problem-solving and effective team leadership. Success in this role requires sound judgment, accountability, and the ability to foster positive employee relations while achieving performance goals.

  • Lead daily packaging operations to ensure safe, efficient, and effective use of labor, materials, and time in meeting production schedules.
  • Monitor and control packaging processes by maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implementing necessary adjustments to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure delivery of required quality, output, yield, and line efficiency in alignment with customer and organizational expectations.
  • Maintain accountability for manufacturing and shipping performance, including productivity, efficiency, and operational continuity.
  • Serve as back-up support for supervisors and lead personnel as needed to maintain operational coverage.
  • Driveand modelstrict adherence to OSHA, environmental, food safety, GMP, and company policies across all operations.
  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment, including participation in safety programs and meetings.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, housekeeping, and equipment cleanliness to meet GMP and Quality System requirements.
  • Train employees on proper safety practices, operating procedures, and compliance expectations.
  • Supervise, direct, and develop team members to achieve operational goals while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Administer company policies consistently, addressing performance issues and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Promote teamwork, engagement, and strong employee relations through proactive communication and leadership.
  • Drive operational performance by monitoring key metrics such as efficiency, yield, and production rates, and implementing improvements where needed.
  • Apply root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to resolve operational challenges and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Production teams to optimize equipment performance and sustain line efficiencies.
  • Support adherence to established budget targets by managing labor and operational resources effectively.
  • Optimize use of materials and workforce allocation to improve cost efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Communicate daily shift activities, performance results, and key issues to plant leadership in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
  • Participate in regular meetings (e.g., safety, GMP) to support alignment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree in operations, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in food processing, packaging, or food safety environments. Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook) and general PC literacy required.

Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Additional Information

Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs/ladders, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights.

Requires adequate sensory acuity to identify normal and abnormal conditions.

Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and communicate effectively across all levels.

Must pass background check and drug screen.
