What to Expect
Tesla seeks an experienced leader to drive operational excellence in the Residential Energy Service Organization. This role leads and expands service operations for residential energy products, delivering first-class national U.S. service for Residential Energy. The manager ensures execution and ongoing development of organizational capabilities, processes, systems, and reporting to provide excellent customer support for Tesla products. The individual collaborates closely with operations, programs, engineering, and cross-functional teams to enhance end-to-end Tesla Operations processes and refine support for sustained excellence.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a best-in-class Residential Field Service Team, prioritizing safety while meeting customer needs and driving operational excellence through KPIs and OKRs; foster strong ownership of team outcomes via cross-functional collaboration with support teams such as Energy Customer Support, Engineering, Fleet, Tooling & Training to implement improvements and enhance processes
- Collaborate closely with Coordination leadership to optimize day-to-day operations and efficiency, including proactive resource allocation for maintenance and ensuring teams have the necessary tools, parts, and equipment for First Visit Success
- Work with customer support teams to resolve escalated issues and challenges, driving positive outcomes and long-term solutions; provide on-site support when appropriate to support problem-solving and internal collaboration
- Develop and support best practices for field service programs, emphasizing customer experience and operational excellence; partner closely with Sub-Contracting teams and third-party providers to build capabilities, communicate expectations, and integrate new processes
- Maintain physical presence across regions and teams to gain in-field insights, monitor progress, and provide hands-on support; control overall organizational spend by proposing cost-effective solutions and continuously improving efficiency
- Perform other related duties as required
What You'll Bring
- Qualified Electrician or BS Degree in either Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics) or equivalent experience professional experience
- Ability to travel up to two weeks, with advanced notice
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience, 3 of which in a comparable role preferably managing field teams
- Proven track record of highly effective team leadership
- Exceptional communication abilities across all facets of an organization (senior leadership, peers, sales, deployment and engineering teams)
- Previous experience in establishing and scaling a highly successful service/operations & maintenance organization
- Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of power systems including testing, diagnosis, HVAC service, inverters and repair of electronic systems and photovoltaic modules a plus
- Knowledge and experience using scan tools, development, following diagnostics and operating diagnostic equipment a plus

Expected Compensation
$112,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
