Position: HR Generalist

About the Role
We are a growing fabrication manufacturer seeking an experienced HR Generalist for a temporary engagement. In this hands-on role, you will partner directly with plant leadership and front-line supervisors to support day-to-day HR operations across the full employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can step in quickly, work independently, and make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data within BambooHR
  • Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors on HR policies, workplace matters, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and OSHA
  • Administer leave programs including FMLA, short-term disability, and workers' compensation coordination
  • Support benefits administration and serve as a liaison with brokers and carriers as needed
  • Assist with performance management processes and manager coaching
  • Maintain and update HR policies, job descriptions, and employee documentation
Qualifications
Required
  • 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment
  • Proficiency with BambooHR is required - hands-on administrative experience expected
  • Working knowledge of federal and Wisconsin employment law
  • Demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruiting for hourly production and skilled trades positions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
  • High degree of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience
Preferred
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification
  • Experience in a fabrication or metal manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with OSHA 300 log maintenance and manufacturing safety programs
