Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and dependable Mechanic II to support the maintenance and repair of our fleet, including diesel trucks, trailers, and support vehicles. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, completing mid-level repairs, and ensuring vehicles operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working both independently and alongside senior technicians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Perform preventative maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, brake, and hydraulic system issues on diesel trucks, trailers, and light-duty vehicles.
  • Assist with fuel system and pump maintenance as needed (training provided).
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and identify safety or operational concerns.
  • Support senior mechanics with advanced diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Complete follow-up service work and ensure repairs meet company quality standards.
  • Accurately complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Report safety violations, equipment concerns, or repair needs promptly.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Respond to roadside service calls as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and stay current on mechanical and safety best practices.


Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in diesel or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and complete mid-level mechanical repairs.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Experience with fuel trucks or petroleum equipment is a plus.
