Position Summary

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Hose Fabricators operate a variety of manufacturing equipment to create hose and fitting assemblies and perform tests and quality checks on finished products. Work expectations and requirements are subject to change based on need and availability.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Performs hose assembly, and ensures standard work process is followed, in a Work Center team environment


  1. Operate and set-up of manufacturing equipment and saws


  1. Qualified and willing to run all production lines as needed to meet production needs during shifts


  1. HPT participation


  1. Performs daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment


  1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment.



  1. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.


  1. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.


  1. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.


  1. Conducts in-process inspection and enters work order data into router


  1. Communicates workflow problems and equipment needs to Team Lead and/or Supervisor


  1. Understands and supports Corporate initiatives such as LEAN


  1. Support and participate in Parker's "Lean" initiatives. Keep work area, clean and organized.


  1. Support and commitment to Parker's Code of Ethics.


  1. Follow all department policies and procedures.


  1. Attendance and punctuality are required.


  1. Maintains an achieving or higher productivity rating while operating assembly cells.



DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Continue to keep current in skills through training, classes and on the job training


  1. Completes daily scrap reports, production tracking sheets, and production boards.


  1. Capable of cross training within multiple areas creating flexibility and understanding


  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:





Education required:



Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required



Experience:



Production work preferred but not required



Preferred Skills/Qualifications:



  1. Able to effectively communicate with other operators


  1. Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills


  1. Strong problem-solving and trouble shooting skills


  1. Basic understanding of shop math and measuring skills, including the ability to convert fractions and decimals.


  1. Good organizational and PC skills

  • Report directly to the VSTL

  • Work closely with all value stream team leads, shop floor employees, production control, and engineering.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee may be subject to:



  • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.

  • Physical hazards from being around machines and moving items.



  1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)


  1. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis


  1. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions


  1. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime
