DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the delivery of therapeutic programs that help consumers build skills, confidence, and independence across a variety of settings. The role blends principles of therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, vocational adjustment, and the Recovery Model to support individual progress. As a Therapeutic Activities Worker, you will perform the following duties:
- Consumer Evaluation: Evaluate individual needs through observation, interviews, and assessment tools to determine appropriate activity plans
- Activity Planning: Help develop therapeutic goals and assign consumers to suitable programs based on their needs and abilities
- Program Delivery: Design and conduct therapeutic activities that support functional improvement and personal growth
- Program Review: Assess the effectiveness of programs and recommend adjustments to improve outcomes
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records according to department requirements
- Team Participation: Share observations with the treatment team and help implement individualized treatment plans

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
- Travel and overtime as needed

- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities; or
- A bachelor's degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
