Job Summary: This incumbent is responsible for the budgeting, planning, analysis, consolidation, benchmarking, and presentation of all types of statistical data, information, trends and patterns for plant operations performance and financial data. The incumbent will also drive operational improvements within operations through the identification and resolution of process improvement opportunities. They will also perform additional projects and functions as needed. Responsibilities:
- Support all Operations activities through collection and analysis of information and the dissemination of intelligence on financial and operational Plant Performance; perform detailed analysis and prepare comprehensive reports to support all business functions.
- Utilize multiple data sources to collect, analyze, consolidate, to provide timely, accurate, presentation of all types of mission-critical business metrics, trends, and patterns within plant operations: including plant performance (availability and reliability), safety, and financials (Capex, O&M, and G&A). Utilize data sources appropriately for specific ad hoc assignments. Effectively convert data to meaningful information for executives.
- Design and implement tools, reports, and presentations that lead to more effective and efficient decision-making. Examples include monthly and quarterly scorecards, strategic reports, and dashboards.
- Lead the budgeting process for Generation; own the process from start to finish. Develop the narrative as applicable to the 5-year plan to relate current portfolio performance and how it relates to longer term strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities for workflow/process improvements and develop ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness through system performance improvements.
- Accurately track, evaluate, and report on NRG's Capital, Major Maintenance, and Environmental Capex projects monthly.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial and operational business planning and forecasting activities in coordination with FP&A (FPR, SAP, PowerSAM, Plant Characteristics, and Planned Outage Schedules).
- Develop, manage, and track the Plant AIP metric process.
- Assemble, prepare, and submit quarterly Benchmarking Data for the organization.
- Support the M&A process for asset sales - internal / external.
- Work closely with other members of the organization, building relationships and the understanding of organizational roles within NRG while establishing productive & influential relationships across all functional areas to ensure consistent and well-coordinated presentation and analysis.
- Appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends, and earnings.
- Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance.
- Provide the required support for the filing of the 10Q & 10K reports
- Provide the required support for the annual Scope 1 and Scope 2 sustainability reporting, including the management of key auditors.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering AND 3-5 years related business experience, or in lieu of Bachelors degree,
- a minimum of 5-10 years relevant business experience is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail, accuracy and precision; candidates must
- demonstrate unquestionable trust, superior performance, and have a commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity.
- Can perform work that is complex and varied in nature. Defines and discerns key aspects of a problem and integrated solutions
- to resolve highly complex business issues. Recognized expert and often provides strategic direction, guidance and
- integration of planning, process development, and reporting.
- Ability to translate and communicate data into actionable business information; Ability to meet short deadlines and turn
- around information with high quality.
- Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), specialized business technologies and applications (e.g., PowerSAM, Power BI, MS TEAMs, FPR, PowerGADS, etc.) to retrieve
- and analyze data in support of business needs.
- Excellent communication skills: including strong oral and writing skills, and the ability to effectively listen as
- well as a willingness to voice opinions and offer solutions. Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy
- and professionalism.
- Comprehensive knowledge and strict adherence to NRG business practices, procedures and principles.
- Strong initiative and ability to handle more than one project.
- Must maintain positive attitude and be open to change in the work environment.
- Accounting, Financial planning, or Budgeting experience preferred. Power Plant and industry experience a plus
- Market operations and the understanding of the plant operations interaction is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment is 4 Days a week in the Houston Office
- Travel outside of work environment will be common especially to plant sites to perform duties and responsibilities - expectation is 40% of the time
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours as necessary especially during critical issue resolution and to achieve project milestones.
