Your Impact

The Global Platform Specialist in Data Fabric team will be responsible for driving the strategic alignment of Splunk's Data Management / Strategy and Federation products with global go-to-market initiatives and build, test, and operationalize field enablement assets to support incubation and scaling of new solution areas. We collaborate closely across functions, employing diverse expertise and perspectives to bring value and solve complex challenges. This is an ideal position for someone who has a proven record of building and scaling high-performance solutions engineering, architect or strategy teams in a fast-paced sales and technology company.

The Data Fabric Team has responsibility for these distinct functions

GTM Strategy
  • Develop and execute product area GTM strategies and plan in partnership with Product and Sales teams.

  • Ensure cross-functional interlock across Marketing, Product, Sales and Global Field Enablement to deliver impactful campaigns.

  • Lead campaign planning and support field activation for new and existing solutions.

  • GTM Build & New Product Introduction

  • Develop and maintain demo environments, proof of concept (POC) materials, and customer & field-facing collateral

  • Partner with regional theatres to activate GTM initiatives, collect feedback, and iterate on enablement.

  • Ensure readiness and rapid adoption of new products across all global markets.

Cross-Functional Engagement
  • New product support for technical requests requiring cross-functional alignment between technical sales and the rest of the business.

  • Facilitating Field / Product Engagements

  • Support Product Management initiated requests for feedback from field

  • Partner with PM on pipeline identification for preview and early access programs

  • Partner with PMM and TMM stakeholders to advise on customer and field-facing content delivery

Enablement
  • Partner with Global Field Enablement to identify and map necessary QEP items by role/function based on GTM Process

You will be experienced in the following areas:
  • Drive adoption and awareness of Splunk Platform and Cisco Data Fabric capabilities

  • Specialist knowledge of Cisco Data Fabric solutions to support field engagements with IT & decision makers at customer/partners, knowledgeable of customer environment and market, including competitor plays. Translates customer/partner business need into technical requirements

  • Develop and build new GTM motions, conversations, collateral to drive adoption of Data Fabric capabilities, principally with Platform but across product areas

  • Ability to clearly articulate issues, challenges, and gaps technically and from a business perspective

  • Partner with BU entities to support and drive the GTM motions cycle, and serve as a

  • Collaborate with internal Product Management and engineering teams, as well as Splunk's product organization, to translate customer insights into optimized data management strategies, address emerging use cases, and actively influence the product roadmap.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience (8+ Yrs) in technical pre-sales, technical consulting services, solutions architect and/or sales engineering roles

  • Develop and maintain deep proficiencies in specific capabilities areas needed by Splunk customers (e.g. Splunk Platform, Data Management, and ecosystem technologies) and being able to quickly react and respond to market trends backed by industry knowledge.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills -using simple communications that convey complex concepts in a compelling, concise, and creative way.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the execution of projects and results to support technology customers' understanding and ability to bring together the full value of their technology investments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical background (including hands on) with expertise in relevant domain

  • A depth of experience and knowledge in data management, ingestion / data processing tools and technologies, specifically related to Splunk and its key solutions.

  • Background in security or observability platforms, and knowledge of strategies for operationalizing logs and/or metrics across infrastructure providers (i.e. on-premises, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform)

  • Operating across Global time zones and open to travel occasionally for team alignment, internal collaborator or customer engagements, and industry/company events.

  • Consistent track record in advising and resolving complex technical challenges

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Leadership in fostering knowledge sharing and innovation

Message to applicants applying to work in the U.S. and/or Canada: The starting salary range posted for this position is $155,300.00 to $227,300.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco's plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.

U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco's policies:

  • 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees

  • 1 paid day off for employee's birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco

  • Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees

  • Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)

  • 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours ofunused sick timecarried forwardfrom one calendar yearto the next

  • Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members

  • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer

For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

  • .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

  • 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

  • 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and

  • Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:

New York City Metro Area:

$199,200.00 - $317,600.00

Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:

$179,900.00 - $291,700.00

* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
