Join the Southeastern Veterans' Center Maintenance Department at the Southeastern Veterans' Center as a Maintenance Repairman 2 and play a key role in keeping our facility in top shape. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the maintenance needs of the Southeastern Veterans' Center by performing repairs to buildings, equipment, and grounds. It involves skilled work across several trades to ensure the facility remains functional and well-kept. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- General Repairs: Fix doors, furniture, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and other facility features
- Equipment Maintenance: Service heating units, air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment, and cooking equipment
- Carpentry Work: Install partitions, prepare surfaces, paint interiors, and repair building structures
- Grounds Care: Trim trees, cut grass, remove debris, and perform seasonal outdoor maintenance
- Safety Practices: Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and use required protective equipment
- Snow Removal: Clear walkways and parking areas using shovels, snow blowers, and other equipment

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work every other weekend.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades
- Experience in commercial and structural maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience with 3-phase wiring including emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels
- Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
- Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as it relates to repair of buildings
- Experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings at a long term care facility

- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
