Summary:

The Product Portfolio Manager for Complex Cross-Divisional Systems directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception through the entire life cycle for multiple product lines across Aerospace Group that will make-up a Complex Cross-Divisional Systems product line. The role is responsible for defining product vision and strategy, owning the product roadmap, discovering and validating user needs, and working cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class products that meet business goals. This role balances customer needs, data-driven decision-making, and strong execution skills to drive product adoption, engagement, and growth.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

This role requires strong leadership, drive and ability to guide and influence externally and internally within a matrixed organization. It is accountable for driving sales and margin growth of multiple large / complex product portfolios, typically in a large division (greater than $500 million) and actively leads cross functional teams including engineering, supply chain, sales and production to manage entire product life cycle and maintain customer satisfaction and business objectives. The role will track key business performance indicators to identify countermeasures to achieving business/market goals to overcome obstacles or changes in market dynamics.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct a comprehensive strategy for complex / multiple product lines (product, promotion, pricing, and channel) for a defined portfolio of products to drive sales and margin expansion including the following attributes:

  • Leads a multi-generational product roadmap development process in line with division strategic/operating plans
  • Is fully integrated into the Innovation stage gate process to support innovative concept ideas in formulating new product development processes.
  • Defines customer requirements/needs and government & regulatory standards
  • Collaborated to help shape future state Global Product Platforms

Manages the product life cycles of the product portfolio:

  • Ownership for Product Simplification portion of POP (Parker Operating Protocol); Product end-of-life cycle (obsolescence); and Application of PLS principles to product development & launch
  • Supports "Simple by Design"
  • Participate in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies. - Develops and leads IME strategies (existing product innovations/modifications/extensions).
  • Develop product value propositions and be accountable for new product launches
  • Investigates market needs for innovative products and works with Engineering to appropriately prioritize product development efforts for an assigned product line or multiple product lines

Promotes the use of new technologies and industry-leading trends:

  • Collaborates with engineering, design, marketing, sales and customer feedback to identify opportunities and validate potential product solutions; May serve as lead on developing potential product solutions
  • Monitors sales and margin results and tracks and recommends appropriate actions.

Break down competing product lines, market position, and competitive entry threats

  • Conducts market research through trade associations, internet investigation and corporate services.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Business discipline. MBA desired
  • Minimum ten (10) years product management experience required engineering or commercial functions in related industry preferred
  • Minimum eight (8) years of managerial / leadership experience managing product portfolios
  • Demonstrated experience owning product lifecycle from design concept, validation, launch, and production and end-of-life
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications, Salesforce)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving/ resolution skills and a team focus
  • Travel up to 25%

  • Pay Range: $138150 to $241850 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
