Position Summary

The Neurosurgeon is a key leader within the Neuroscience Institute, delivering advanced surgical care for patients with complex neurological disorders. This role integrates operative expertise with high-acuity inpatient management and outpatient continuity, supporting a broad range of neurosurgical conditions including cranial, spinal, peripheral nerve, and functional disorders.
The Neurosurgeon collaborates with interdisciplinary teams-including neurology, radiology, critical care, and rehabilitation-to ensure evidence-based, patient-centered care. This position offers opportunities to contribute to institutional growth through innovation, education, and participation in multidisciplinary case reviews, quality initiatives, and clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with neurosurgical conditions through outpatient clinic, hospital consultation, and pre-operative planning
  • Perform surgical interventions including cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve procedures
  • Provide perioperative management and post-operative care with inpatient rounding and coordination
  • Interpret diagnostic studies such as CT, MRI, and neuroangiography to support surgical planning
  • Collaborate with specialists in neurology, oncology, trauma, and critical care for comprehensive patient management
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and ongoing management strategies
  • Participate in academic conferences, multidisciplinary team meetings, and protocol development
  • Accurately document clinical encounters and maintain compliance with institutional, regulatory, and payer standards

Requirements

  • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of neurosurgery residency
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurosurgery
  • Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Washington State by employment start date
  • DEA registration, NPI number, and prescriptive authority
  • BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association
  • Strong commitment to team-based care, continuous learning, and clinical excellence

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $900,000.00 - $900,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
