The Sr. Manager, Supplier Engagement will play a critical role in leading and advancing operations for the McKesson Supplier Engagement program. This role reports to the Director of Supplier Engagement and partners closely with Business Unit leaders, Sourcing & Procurement, Legal, Compliance, and external stakeholders to ensure McKesson's objectives align with federal obligations, enterprise policy, and our purpose of Advancing Health Outcomes for All.

As a senior individual contributor, you will serve as the primary operational leader for the Supplier Engagement team, responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of program initiatives, including process modernization and digital transformation. We are seeking a results-driven strategic business partner who creates value, provides efficiency, and ensures compliance with measurable impact across McKesson's supply chain. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can independently manage priorities, with strong project management, writing and communication and skills.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Strategy

  • Execute McKesson's Supplier Engagement strategy, including annual goals, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to aligning, shaping, influencing, and executing against enterprise priorities.

  • Leading Supplier Engagement operations, including intake, validation of supplier size/status, stakeholder handoff, and issue resolution.

  • Serve as a SME and consultative resource to internal teams on supplier engagement policy interpretation, risk aware execution, and questions across the enterprise.

  • Partner with procurement and business stakeholders to integrate supplier engagement considerations into sourcing, RFPs/RFQs, and contracting activities.

Compliance & Federal Contracting Support

  • Assist in administering McKesson's, Federal, small business subcontracting and other regulatory obligations, including good-faith outreach, documentation, and support for audits or reviews.

  • Ensure alignment with McKesson's Supplier Engagement policy and classification requirements.

Process Improvement & Digital Transformation

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to standardize, simplify, drive adoption of digital transformation tools, and automate Supplier Engagement workflows.

  • Partner with technology and data teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions, build dashboards, and create AI-enabled insights.

  • Embed Supplier Engagement capabilities into enterprise sourcing, supplier management, and data ecosystems.

  • Monitor emerging regulatory, operational, and data risks and proactively adjust program execution.

Stakeholder & Customer Support

  • Function as operations point of contact for Business Units, Indirect Sourcing & Procurement, Government Contracting, and Inclusion & Belonging.

  • Manage internal customer support models, including SLAs, SOPs, FAQs, and escalation protocols.

External Partnerships & Outreach

  • Coordinate supplier outreach activities, program showcases, match-making events, and internal education and engagement activities to expand access to qualified small suppliers.

  • Identify, vet, and engage individual suppliers and supplier-focused organizations across applicable federal classifications.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Track, analyze, and report supplier metrics, including Tier II or internal reporting, ensuring data accuracy and usability.

  • Track program KPIs and prepare executive-ready dashboards and summaries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, strategic sourcing, compliance, program operations, government contracting, or related field.

Required Skills

  • An ability to operate with an enterprise mindset aligning local wins to enterprise outcomes.

  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional program initiative with demonstrated expertise in process improvement, operational governance, and stakeholder management.

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, or local government subcontracting programs, including reporting and regulatory compliance obligations

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex concepts, into clear, actionable plans and executive-ready materials.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate dependencies, and drive execution in a demanding environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify risks, gaps, and process inconsistencies.

  • Collaborative, customer-focused, and self-directed, with the ability to build relationships, adapt to ambiguity, and work effectively across matrixed teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with commercial and government or public sector contracting, including experience with Tier II reporting and supplier certification.

  • Ability to modernize processes and execute with pace.

  • Experience managing or supporting supplier diversity or subcontracting programs for a federal prime contractor, including responding to government audits and inquiries.

  • Demonstrated participation in digital transformation initiatives including evaluation, implementation, or optimization of procurement or supplier or vendor management technology platforms.

  • Familiarity with data analytics, dashboards, or workflow automation platforms such as SAP, Ariba, Power BI, VIVA STARS Supplier portal, etc.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Applied AI fluency -demonstrateduse of AI assistants (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) and intelligent automation to accelerate program delivery, enhance forecasting, and drive decision-making speed.

  • Ability to influence, align, and drive outcomes without direct people management responsibility.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $109,500 - $182,500
