Overview

Calvary Street Management is looking for a dependable, experienced, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join the facilities team at their Assisted Living Community, Livingston Place at Southern Ave., Assisted Living, located in Washington, D.C. The Housekeeper plays a pivotal role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for the residents and their families. The housekeeper's primary responsibilities include maintaining state/federal safety compliance and maintaining consistent cleanliness and comfort of the resident's living spaces, ensuring the facilities daily needs are met, and contributing to the overall well-being of the community, The housekeeper's are responsible for the aesthetics and organization of the community's business office, the residential units, and all public or common areas of the property in a neat, efficient, and accommodating condition.



Responsibilities

The housekeeper's primary responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of resident living areas, common areas, and public spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces

    • Meets health standards and sanitation for assigned areas, including, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, resident rooms, and other work areas, as needed.

    • Safely follow user directions for all compounds and chemicals, including use of proper proportions; labels all compounds and chemicals properly and stores them in locked storage areas.

    • Disposal of trash containers, replaces liners, as appropriate, and empties trash/products in proper receptacles

    • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming

    • Washes windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary

    • Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment

    • Maintains clean storage area and stores cleaning supplies in the directed manner

    • Carries linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts and maintains fire aisles when using cleaning cart

    • Replenishes supplies, linens, and bathroom items

    • Reports any repair needs to supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate

    • Observes for resident safety when in resident care areas

    • Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards

    • Contribute to the safety and security of residents by monitoring and reporting any concerns or incidents

    • other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2- 3 years of previous relevant experience in housekeeping, janitorial/custodial or similar roles, required.

  • Previous experience in an Assisted Living facility or similar healthcare environment highly preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledge in safety hazards, health codes, and/or OSHA regulations, highly preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization is required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods

  • CPR Certified required, but may obtain prior to hire.

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Washington, DC this ranges from $$35,800 -$40,500 plus benefits and retirement program.
