DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports database design, development, and operations that serve the Pennsylvania State Police and other Public Safety IT Delivery Center partners. You will help ensure reliable data systems that support critical public safety functions. As a Data Administrator 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Database Design: Support database structure planning and development to meet application needs
  • Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models and dictionaries to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Performance Support: Monitor and tune database performance to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Security Oversight: Administer access controls and apply security standards to protect sensitive data
  • Data Integration: Develop processes to extract, transform, and load data between systems
  • Operational Support: Assist with deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting across database environments

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework)part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Database Analyst or Information Technology Generalist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration; or
  • Three years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • One year of information technology experience in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
