Versademics Learning Centers- 3950 Victory Lane Winterville, NC 28590 - is currently seeking Federal Work Study Students to serve as a Versademics Summer Academic Tutors during our 2026 Summer Camp.

Versademics is a faith-based nonprofit after school and summer program serving K-12 youth in Pitt County. Our name blends versatile and academics; reflecting our mission to develop scholars who excel academically, socially, and in extracurricular activities. Across the 2024-2025 school year, our scholars demonstrated significant gains in reading speed, reading accuracy, and multiplication fluency. We are committed to carrying that momentum through the summer. Tutors at Versademics work in small-group and one-on-one formats during the academic block of our summer day. This role is ideal for students considering a career in teaching, school counseling, school social work, or any youth-serving profession, and it offers meaningful classroom experience under the supervision of experienced program staff.

Job duties include:
* Provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in reading, math, and writing for K-8 scholars
* Implement structured curricula and tutoring protocols provided by Versademics
* Track scholar progress using pre and post assessment data, fluency checks, and observational notes
* Support differentiated instruction tailored to each scholars grade level and skill needs
* Collaborate with the Program Director and lead staff to identify scholars needing additional support
* Reinforce positive learning habits, attention to task, and growth mindset language
* Maintain accurate attendance and session records
* Communicate respectfully with scholars, families, and program staff
* Participate in pre-camp training and weekly tutor check-ins
* Support classroom setup, materials prep, and general care of the learning environment

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
* Majors in Elementary Education, Special Education, Reading/Literacy, Mathematics, English, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields preferred; all majors welcome.
* Strong reading and math foundations (comfortable with K-8 level content)
* Prior tutoring, classroom, or youth mentorship experience is a plus
* Attention to detail and reliability in tracking scholar progress
* Patience and a genuine belief that every scholar can grow
* Reliable transportation to Winterville, NC
* Comfortable working within a Christian, faith-based program environment
