Position Overview The Construction Inspector will perform field inspection duties to verify contractor compliance with codes, plans, and safety requirements. This role requires extensive outdoor work, strong mathematical skills, and the ability to prepare highquality written reports. Computer literacy and a valid driver's license are required. DOT experience and certifications are highly preferred. Key Responsibilities
- Verify that contractor work complies with applicable codes, project specifications, and safety standards.
- Research construction information, document findings promptly, and report discrepancies to the Project Manager, Engineer, or Inspection Supervisor.
- Inspect, measure, and issue delivery receipts for materials purchased, delivered, and used in the project, as needed.
- Prepare routine inspection reports that include materials, staffing, timelines, issues, concerns, and other projectrelated details.
- Ensure all inspection documentation is accurate and reflects contractor work performed.
- Read and interpret construction drawings to confirm proper materials, installation, and procedures.
- Seek approval from the Project Manager, Engineer, or Inspection Supervisor for any changes to project scope or additional inspection services.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field (may substitute for experience).
- Demonstrated experience with scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and construction production processes.
- Handson construction experience preferred, with working knowledge of scheduling, quality control procedures, and construction workflows.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and documentation skills a must.
