Your Team, Your Impact

The Marvell Foundry Tapeout Team plays a critical role in delivering Marvell's most advanced silicon across cutting edge technologies and specialized processes. As a Principal Engineer, you will own end to end tapeout execution, partnering closely with design, CAD, operations, and leading semiconductor foundries to bring complex SoCs from design to manufacturing.
This role offers broad visibility, deep technical challenges, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on Marvell's ability to scale and deliver products that power cloud data centers, AI platforms, high speed networking, and next generation infrastructure. Your technical leadership will be key as tapeout demand and design complexity continue to grow across an expanding and high impact portfolio.

What You Can Expect

  • Oversee crossfunctional tapeout execution, ensuring alignment across design, operations, CAD, and manufacturing teams.
  • Act as a key liaison between operations, design teams, and foundry partners, enabling clear and effective communication on tapeoutrelated logistics.
  • Provide comprehensive support to design teams, including project registration, IP validation, and execution of tapeout automation programs.
  • Manage database transfers and tapeout submissions to foundries; coordinate JobView reviews and mask releases to ensure accuracy, completeness, and schedule adherence.
  • Collaborate closely with CAD teams to drive the development and deployment of automation solutions that improve tapeout efficiency and robustness.
  • Partner with the Finance team to evaluate tapeout mask and wafer costs and manage related purchase orders.
  • Work closely with Planning, Packaging, and Foundry Engineering teams to maintain part numbers, manage service requests, and streamline engagements with foundry partners.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field; advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred.
  • 10+ years of handson experience in tapeoutrelated support or foundry logistics within a fab or fabless semiconductor environment.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor process technologies and manufacturing fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments; knowledge of layout, layout tools and physical verification is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate, flawless execution of tapeout processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across crossfunctional and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple concurrent activities and competing priorities.
  • Proven problemsolving ability, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and driving timely resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment, proactively tackle challenges, adapt to changing priorities, and support critical tapeout milestones.
