Sign Bonus:

Sign-on bonuses are paid in installments: (a) $1,000 after successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment; (b) remaining balance after successful completion of 180 days. Employment must be active and in good standing on payout dates.

Your schedule:

1st Shift, Monday- Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

What you will accomplish as a Production Assembler at TAPCO:

The Production Assembler position assembles, programs, and tests TAPCO manufactured products. The position operates within a cell work environment where standardized work, Lean Manufacturing, and safety are practiced. This role requires flexibility to adapt quickly to change and a desire for growth. This position plays a key role in TAPCO's prime metrics that feed directly into the companywide gainsharing program. A Production Assembler II will have a broad knowledge of Production tasks, performing some at high level. Cross trained with the ability to switch roles when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interprets engineer drawings to ensure the correct parts are pulled and used
  • Assembles custom orders according to engineered-to-order standards and documentation
  • Programs and test finished products
  • Pack products into wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers using protective padding.
  • Participates in cell changeovers from part to part
  • Performs minor maintenance
  • Solves routine problems
  • Learns Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles and practice them on a daily basis
  • Shares and supports ideas for improvement in group meetings
  • Participates in group and individual improvement activities with team members, engineering and management
  • Helps implement and support improvement ideas
  • Communicate with Cell/Team Leader, Planner and Management as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Training Matrix Score between 85-169

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

  • Electronics - wiring diagrams, testing
  • Mechanical ability - Assembly
  • Able to read, and interpret electronic and mechanical work instructions, drawings, and schematics
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Communication skills - strong verbal, listening, and written
  • Able to analyze and solve routine problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where some standardization exists.
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, testing
  • Able to learn and accept feedback
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team-based environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively in a team/cell environment
  • Dependable
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Able to learn Lean manufacturing and 5
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate and interpret English instructions

Required Experience

  • Prior experience assembling panel, wire harnesses, and/or other electrical control
  • Prior experience working in a team/cell based environment
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.

Preferred Experience

  • 1 - 2 years' prior relevant experience within industry
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or 5S
