Job Summary: |
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality support to physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in meeting the operational needs of the practice and the medical needs of the patient. The RN assesses and evaluates patient conditions, and then plans, implements, provides, and documents patient care in a manner that follows professional nursing standards and outlined practices. Key Responsibilities:
Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians. Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, and pharmacy calls. Takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, and ensures medical chart/lab test results are available and complete. Administers immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed. Respond to patient questions and concerns as a liaison between physician and patient. Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the physician. Performs circulating functions before procedures, including preparing the procedural environment, orienting and assessing the patient, and reviewing the patient's medical record and the surgeon's notes to ensure all prerequisites and preferences are met. Performs scrub functions as needed, including the preparation, selection, and handling of instruments and supplies used during the surgical procedure, and performs equipment counts with colleagues.

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications:
OBGYN nurse experience. Two or more (2+) years registered nursing experience in a procedural/OR setting. Two or more (2+) years of job-related/clinic experience. Bilingual, Spanish-speaking. Moderate sedation experience. Nursing certification (ANCC) in specialty area. Kronos/EPIC experience.
Conditions of Employment:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification. Registered Nurse (RN), State of Colorado. Maintains all required licensures and certifications for the position. Maintains all required continuing education requirements. Complies with applicable University of Colorado School of Medicine, Community Practice mandatory education and training. Must be able to work in-person. Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, to include physicians, leadership, and staff within the various affiliate organizations (UCH, Children's Colorado, CU Medicine, CU SOM) Strong knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 procedure coding. Ability to work within large, complex healthcare systems. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Ability to compile complex reports and develop presentations. Ability to compose letters and memorandums. Ability to deal calmly and courteously with people. Ability to deal with stressful situations. Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures. Ability to function independently and manage own time and work tasks. Ability to lead work teams. Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to negotiate, persuade, and establish direction. Ability to organize workflow. Ability to perform basic filing, office procedures, and word processing. Ability to plan, coordinate, and develop multiple projects. Ability to work as an effective team member.

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $74,347 to $86,243. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
