Position Summary The Sports & Fitness Program Manager is responsible for developing, organizing, delivering and administering sports leagues, recreation programs and activities targeted toward youth and adults. This position is responsible for recruiting and engaging staff and volunteers as well as supervising and developing their team. This position is also responsible for acting as a Manager on Duty in the Gymnasium, fulfilling closing shifts, and overseeing Sports, Recreation, Fitness and Athletics-based programs and functions as assigned. Essential Functions
Working Conditions Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the environment. Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently. Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities. PAY RATE: $33.80-$34.00/hr. Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Education
High School or Equivalent (required)
Experience
CPR/PR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (within 30 days of hire). (required)
Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. (required) minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience. (preferred) Minimum of one (1) year of experience developing, implementing, scheduling and evaluating varied sports recreation programs. (required) Must have at least two (2) years of experience working with children preferably in a Sports, Recreation, or Camp-based environment.
