We are seeking a Sr. Research Project Coordinatorwho will oversee the day-to-day activities of a single complex or multiple research projects and makes independent decisions that impact the conduct of the research. Assists in goal setting and creating implementation plans. Contributes to budget formulation, communications, and data systems.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Principal Investigator or more senior research staff to ensure operational feasibility of proposed protocol/study design.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms based on understanding of underlying study design.
  • Develop or oversee design and implementation of study procedures and tools for data collection, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires; background research, laboratory processing, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in developing study budget.
  • Set up data collection system and ensure validity of study data.
  • Organize and quality control study data.
  • Recommend and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.
  • Conduct literature searches to provide background information.
  • Abstract and index information based on knowledge of subject matter.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In Addition to the Duties Listed Above

  • The department is seeking a Sr. Research Project Coordinator to assist in the recruitment, data collection, analysis and dissemination of a study to evaluate the impacts of online, flexible food benefits for adolescents.
  • The coordinator will work directly with faculty to across the research cycle.

  • Managing participant recruitment
  • Interacting with study participants.
  • Lead data collection activities, including consent procedures, participant screening, scheduling, interviewing and conducting observations.
  • Conducting participant interviews and observations.
  • Support analysis of data.
  • Attend team and partner meetings.
  • Manage data files according to research protocol.
  • Assist with writing reports and manuscripts. Opportunities for authorship of manuscripts available.
  • Review literature, documents, and other relevant program materials.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Quantitative research skills
