What to Expect
Tesla is seeking aFireAlarmEngineer for the Infrastructure Engineering team. This role is ideal for aNICET II+installer/programmerwith a strong background in commercial and manufacturing projects, and a proven track record ofworking onprojects from kickoff through construction,quality designand Certificate of Occupancy. A successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, code-compliant firealarmsystems across a variety of sites and projects.
What You'll Do
- Development andcoordination offirealarmsystemsfor Tesla facilities.
- Project initiation phase by collaborating with a variety of teams to define scope, design criteria, schedule and cost
- Developingbid leveldocumentation includingequipmentspecifications
- Assist in developingRFP/RFQ documents for project scoping and pricing
- Reviewdesignsto ensurecompliancewith applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, and local jurisdictional requirements
- Mnaging 3rdparty consultants or subcontractors in supportofconstruction activities includingbut not limited tosubmittal review, RFI responses, and field surveys.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineeringor equivalent experiencepreferred
- Preferred certified NICET II or abovein the United Statesor Fire Alarm Installer/Programmer
- 6+ years of experience infiresystemdevelopment/engineering(fire suppression or fire alarm), with a strong focus on commercial and manufacturing projects
- Experience working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects from kickoff,through construction, commissioning, acceptance testing, and documentation
- Strong knowledge of building codes, design standards, and industry best practices
- Anticipate minimal travel (5-10%)
