Ballard Spahr LLP has an entry-level opportunity for a Legal Support Assistant in the Los Angeles office. The selected individual will provide administrative support to Legal Administrative Assistants, possess a mastery of organization skills, assume responsibility with minimal supervision, exercise initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of their assigned authority, and champion and practice collaboration with all employees.

This position will primarily work onsite in our Los Angeles office; there may be later opportunities for periodic remote work.

Your Role:

As a Legal Support Assistant, you will assist with general and legal administrative responsibilities such as:

• Preparing, formatting, and editing correspondence and legal documents

• Assisting in the preparation and organization of trial and closing binders

• Generating and distributing reports as needed

• Filing documents in both electronic and physical systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Entering attorney time and preparing and submitting expense reports in a timely manner

• Supporting the management and preparation of litigation matters by performing increasingly complex tasks under the guidance of Legal Administrative Assistants

Required Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a college degree is a plus, and prior law firm or professional services experience is preferred. Excellent technical and organizational skills are essential to success in this position.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a large professional environment and have working knowledge of the firm's computer applications, document management system, and Microsoft Office, particularly with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The targeted salary range for this position is from $55,000- $65,000 which reflects the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as the candidate's experience, and qualifications.
