Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for an Outreach Representative to join our team!The ideal candidate will bebilingual (English/ Spanish) with greatinterpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication. Familiarity with Baltimore City area preferred.

TheOutreach Representativewill fulfillthe outreach criteria required by the Cancer Screening Program toidentifyand recruit uninsured, low-income, Spanish speaking women for the Cancer Project. Fulfills the recall criteriarequiredfor returning patients. Performs office functions.

Primary Duties:

  • Accurately and neatlydocumentsall outreach efforts, successful and unsuccessful, and home visits.Submitdocuments on time.Answersthe phone.Providestranslation from Spanish to English. Performs office duties such as enrollment, scheduling appointments, mailings, filing, recall, and other clerical duties as assigned.

  • Performs recall independently and according to program policy. Coordinates and/orarrangestaxi transportation for clients when the need is expressed and according to policy.Works collaboratively with patients, case manager, clinicalstaff,and providers.

  • Assistsin the development of plans and strategies for reaching Spanish speaking women by providing suggestions on focus areas and events. Works collaboratively with case manager, clinical staff, and providers.Assistswith special projects as needed.

  • Facilitates target population's understanding of the importance of early detection of cancer through regular screenings byprovidinginformation in Spanish.Providesprogram and eligibility information to women seeking services. Collects demographic datarequiredtodetermineprogram eligibility for free screenings. Documentsneatlyandaccurately.Participates in external reviews by the State, TJC, and other accrediting groups.

  • Recruits eligible, Spanish speaking women for the project by promoting the program at designated establishments, events, and other outreach activities within the community.Representsthe program and hospital in community outreach efforts, especially those in Hispanic neighborhoods.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Customer service experiencepreferred.

  • Qualified Bilingual Staff Level 1 within 1 Year.
