| Position Purpose |
The
Project Manager advances the strategic and operational priorities of the Office of the Provost by managing projects, coordinating cross-functional work, and supporting effective execution across the office.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Provost for Operations and Chief Operations Officer, this position provides project management and operational support to Provost's Office leadership as assigned. The role works closely with senior leaders, campus partners, and external collaborators to move priorities forward, ensure alignment with institutional standards, and support timely, well-coordinated outcomes. |

- Five or more years of project or program management experience in an academic, nonprofit, or organizational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated success in stakeholder and vendor management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills in handling sensitive and complex issues.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management or collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Teams, or similar).

Project Management and Operations -
- Develops and manages project plans, timelines, deliverables, workflows, and tracking tools for assigned initiatives.
- Coordinates meetings and work sessions; prepares agendas, documents decisions, tracks action items, and monitors progress.
- Partners with Provost Office leadership, project sponsors, and campus collaborators to clarify scope, resources, roles, and expected outcomes.
- Identifies risks, dependencies, and barriers to progress, recommending practical solutions to keep work on track.
- Supports implementation of cross-functional initiatives involving multiple offices, divisions, or external partners.
- Maintains project documentation, status updates, decision logs, and related materials to support accountability and continuity.
- Helps resolve coordination challenges by engaging the right partners, clarifying next steps, and elevating issues when appropriate.

Relationship Management and Communications -
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with Provost's Office colleagues, campus partners, institutional stakeholders, and external collaborators.
- Serves as a liaison with administrative, academic, and operational units to support coordinated execution of assigned projects.
- Prepares clear communications, meeting summaries, updates, briefing materials, and presentations for leadership and project stakeholders.
- Promotes transparency, alignment, and follow-through by ensuring stakeholders have accurate information and clearly defined next steps.

| Description |
Administrative, Operational, and Strategic Support -
- Provides project-based administrative, operational, and strategic support to Provost Office leadership at the direction of the Senior Associate Provost for Operations and Chief Operations Officer.
- Supports planning, reporting, documentation, and implementation activities related to office-wide priorities and special initiatives.
- Tracks project budgets, invoices, reimbursements, and related financial information in coordination with finance partners.
- Gathers and organizes data to support analysis, reporting, planning, and decision-making.
- Identifies opportunities to improve processes, workflows, documentation, and operational practices.
- Maintains accurate, organized, and accessible project records.
- Performs other duties as assigned to advance the priorities of the Office of the Provost.
