Scope of Position

The Production Lab Assistant supports laboratory production operations by preparing, handling, and staging large batches of liquid and dry chemical formulations. This role is responsible for safe transportation, storage, mixing, blending, labeling, and preparation of production chemicals. The position works closely with Production Lab Technicians to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

This position reports to the Operations Leader. This role is on-site and is based in Fort Myers, FL.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport and store palletized raw materials and chemical supplies according to established safety and storage requirements. Transportation frequently requires the use of warehouse pallet jacks.
  • Measure, lift, pour, mix, and blend large batches of liquid and dry chemical compounds following approved formulations and work instructions
  • Prepare production batches for downstream use by Chemistry Assemblers, ensuring timely availability and proper staging
  • Label all containers, vessels, and batches accurately with required identification, lot numbers, and hazard information
  • Assist Production Lab Technicians with batch preparation, equipment setup, and clean-up activities
  • Operate and clean mixing, blending, and material-handling equipment in accordance with SOPs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production lab environment
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, chemical handling standards, and spill response procedures
  • Document batch preparation activities, material usage, and quality checks as required
  • Report on equipment issues, material shortages, or safety concerns to supervisory staff
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to efficiency, safety, and quality
  • Actively support pollution prevention, waste reduction, and safe chemical handling initiatives.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and inspectionready lab and production areas.
  • Foster strong partnerships with quality, engineering, warehouse, and supply chain teams.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Operations Leader or Company management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in a production, manufacturing, laboratory, or chemical-handling environment preferred
  • Ability to follow written instructions, formulations, and standard operating procedures
  • Basic math skills for measuring and mixing materials accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Safety and compliance focused mindset.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within production and quality teams.
  • Clear communication skills for reporting results, documenting work, and escalating issues
  • Comfort working with industrial equipment and chemical processing systems.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company's Fort Myers location in Fort Myers, Florida. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with chemical exposure
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift, carry up, and handle chemical containers and raw materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull up, and handle chemical containers and raw materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses, and follow strict safety protocols
