POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Assembler to join our production team. In this role, you will apply your expertise to assemble bus components with precision and efficiency while mentoring junior staff and upholding high quality and safety standards. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and performance of our transit vehicles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform complex assembly operations of transit bus components following detailed blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively to ensure high-quality assembly outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot assembly challenges and collaborate with team members to implement solutions.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections of assembled components and assist in resolving any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies.
  • Lead and support junior assemblers by providing coaching and sharing best practices.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating proactivity and accountability.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in assembly or manufacturing roles, preferably within the automotive or transit industries.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including hands-on experience with tools and equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring or training junior personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting purposes.
