We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr. Learning Experience Designer (Hybrid) on our Mission Operations team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office. This role designs high-quality, interactive experiences that enable meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and collective sensemaking around organizational well-being across both large convenings and 1:1 advisory engagements with health systems. This role owns the design and execution of PS sessions and partners with physician faculty to strengthen facilitation across convening and advisory services. This role is responsible for bringing rigor and the ability to craft conversation design, session flow, and group dynamics, and the helps subject-matter experts translate insight into powerful, participant-centered experiences at multiple scales. This role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in their job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. This role solves complex problems and works with independence, receiving minimal guidance. This role may drive defined workstreams within a broader project or may have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Typically acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: Learning and Experience Design
* Define the purpose, learning outcomes, conversation formats, and content arc for AMA's well-being convening events such as a CWO Forum, Product Advisory Council, learning collaboratives, etc..; this excludes events such as ACPH/ICPH that are owned by the Content Strategy & Operations team. * Research and design interactive formats that enable deep participation, dialogue, reflection, and learning across diverse audiences of senior physician and health system leaders. * Translate content and intent into facilitation guides and plans, session flows, and participant experiences. * Continuously evolve convening approaches based on feedback, observed group dynamics, and emerging techniques and practices in the facilitation space. * Develop general understanding of health systems, clinician well-being, change leadership, and clinical audiences to make informed recommendations about experience design, facilitation approach, session flow, and materials. Facilitation Coaching and Enablement * Create, curate, and organize a library of facilitation guides, prompts, techniques, teaching decks, and conversation supports that enable the physician faculty and program teams to deliver consistent, high quality 1:1 and group conversations. * Partner with physician faculty and Activation Director to customize reuseable facilitation and didactic materials and conversation supports for specific report. * Coach and prepare physician faculty and other presenters to strengthen facilitation and presentation skills and techniques. * Design and lead preparation and rehearsal sessions and processes that align presenters on intent, flow, and facilitation approach. Event Execution * Provide necessary inputs to event planning and operations staff to ensure that logistics support the broader experience and learning objectives. * Define and build the run of show for each presenter's section and content within a given event, including session flow, interaction design, timing, and transitions. * Serve as the on-site facilitation and experience lead during convening events, monitoring energy, pacing, and group dynamics and coordinating with logistic partners and presenters for real-time adjustments as needed. * Ensure consistent and continuously improving facilitation quality across formats (e.g. convening, advisory sessions, working sessions) by collecting feedback and identifying opportunities to strengthen design, preparation, content, format, and delivery over time. The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago. This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $87,394-$115,797. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
